Geographically speaking, we can divide Dorbinjsko into three parts: Dobrinj, as the center and a separate unit, the villages situated by the sea (Šilo, Klimno, Čižići, Soline, Meline and Rudine) and the hinterland (Polje, Žestilac, Sveti Vid, Gostinjac, Hlapa, Županje, Kras, Gabonjin, Sveti Ivan, Rasopasno, Sužan, Tribulje, Klanice).
Dobrinj, the center of about twenty surrounding villages that together constitute the Municipality of Dobrinj locally known as Dobrinjsko, is situated 200 meters above sea level. Although situated on the northeastern side of the island of Krk, Dobrinjsko partly encompasses the eastern side of the island as well. Geographically speaking, we can divide Dobrinjsko into three parts: Dobrinj, as the center and a separate unit, the villages by the sea (Šilo, Klimno, Čižići, Soline, Meline and Rudine) and the hinterland (Polje, Žestilac, Sveti Vid, Gostinjac, Hlapa, Županje, Kras, Gabonjin, Sveti Ivan, Rasopasno, Sužan, Tribulje, Klanice). Fifty years ago, the hinterland also included Dolovo, now an extinct village between Dobrinj and Kras. The division of Dobrinjsko in terms of relief would encompass the so-called Highland Zone (Visoka zona) which encompasses Dobrinj, Kras and Gabonjin, and the Lowland Zone (Niska zona) encompassing the Soline Bay. The fact that the villages are so scattered and yet spatially and culturally so connected is one of the particularities of this region, which distinguishes it from other parts of the island of Krk.
